Building God’s House
Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house, that I may take pleasure in it and that I may be glorified, says the Lord. • Haggai 1:8
Read: Haggai 1:1-11
In this section of Haggai, God commands his people to rebuild the destroyed temple. First, he tells them to examine their heart. We are also reminded that it is important to have a place that is set aside for the worship of God. While temporary solutions are sometimes necessary, we are a people of place. If we consecrate a space for worship, when we enter it, we are reminded that that is what we do in that place.
1. Are there areas of your of your life you are not trusting in God 2. What does it mean to be a people of place?
Memory Verse
Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you. • 1 Chronicles 29:16
