The Glory and Sovereignty of God

One of the hardest things for us to do is submit to God's will. As Christians, this is our heart's desire, yet our flesh is often weak. We find a hundred things to distract us and chase after.

This past week, the preacher reminded us that God's glory and sovereignty never fail. If we prayerfully learn to trust this truth, it becomes a sweet balm to our hearts and minds. Amid hardship, we come to recognize God's kind and sovereign hand bringing us through it.

While this can be hard to understand, the preacher shows us how life can feel incredibly random when we do not realize it. However, the balm of a loving God who loves and cares for us and sees us through our darkest hour is incredibly good news.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Was there a time when God's glory brought you comfort?

  2. What is a way that God's glory could be of comfort to you?

  3. What does it mean for God to be the author of your life?
